Jules Verne (1828-1905) was a French author of adventure novels and a great proponent of science in fiction. 'Around the World in Eighty Days' tells the story of Phileas Fogg and his adventures around the world. He has made a wager–to tour the world in eighty days–which he is unlikely to win. Although seemingly impossible, Fogg embarks on the journey with his valet Passepartout, determined to win the bet. What follows is a rip-roaring ride around the globe with a nail-biting finish.
